Andrew Hopkins is an Australian sociologist who has done a lot of research into the human and organizational causes of incididents in high-risk industries. Hopkins also studied the impact of organizational structures and executive bonuses on operational safety.

His publications include works such as "Organising for Safety", "Quiet Outrage: The Way of a Sociologist", and "Risky Rewards: How Company Bonuses Affect Safety".

Hopkins has also studied decisions for public safety; the connection between inquiries and industry change; incident reporting; and safety indicators.
